Jamshedpur man books father-in-law for ‘restraining’ wife

Seraikela, July 5: One B Ramakrishna Sharma of Chandil has lodged a police complaint against his father-in-law Devendra Nath Mahato for allegedly disallowing the former’s son and wife from coming back to him.

In the police complaint, Sharma said his wife Lalita Mahato and two year-old son had gone to Mahato’s house in Ghodanegi, Chandil for a brief stay on 7th May 2021. Ever since, the two have not returned home, said Sharma.

Sharma said his father-in-law was deliberately stopping his daughter from coming back to her matrimonial house with her son. He expressed doubt that his father-in-law was planning his daughter’s second marriage. He said his father-in-law and a cousin of his wife abused him whenever he called them to send Lalita back to her matrimonial house.
