Jamshedpur, June 8: A 55-year-old man has been accused of raping a four-year-old girl in Garib Nawaz Colony, located under the jurisdiction of Azadnagar police station in Mango. Shockingly, the accused individual is a neighbour of the victim. In response to the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, prompt action was taken by the authorities, leading to the arrest of the accused neighbour, Mohd. Akram.
Following the incident, the police wasted no time in sending the victim to MGM Hospital for a medical examination. The police are currently in the process of recording the victim’s statement, which will be presented in court as part of the ongoing investigation. Rakesh Kumar, the in-charge of Azadnagar police station, informed that the victim’s mother approached the police station on Wednesday night and filed a written complaint regarding the heinous act. According to the mother’s account, Mohd. Akram lured her four-year-old daughter by claiming to show her his mobile phone. As night fell, the mother grew concerned about her daughter’s whereabouts and went to Akram’s house in search of her. To her horror, she discovered that Akram had undressed the young girl and was attempting to sexually assault her while silencing her cries. Subsequently, the accused was apprehended and has since been remanded to judicial custody.
