Jamshedpur man accused of killing wife for dowry acquitted

Jamshedpur, April 18: The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ) IV Rajendra Kumar Sinha acquitted one Prakash Sahu in a case of dowry killing due to lack of evidence on Monday.

The case dates back to 29 January 2021 when Sushma Sahu, resident of Mithila Path, Kadma, had reportedly committed suicide by hanging self to death. Her husband Prakash Sahu was booked for killing her for dowry. Munilal Sahu, father of the deceased, had lodged a police complaint against Prakash Sahu and his kin. A total of nine witnesses had deposed in this case, sources said.
