Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat: Aspirants meet party workers to chalk out strategy

Jamshedpur: With administration keeping a vigil on execution of Model Code of Conduct, two aspirants for Jamshedpur Parliament constituency, sitting BJP MP Bidyut Baran Mahto and gathbandhan candidate from JMM Champai Soren, are busy meeting party workers to chalk out poll strategy.

The five-time Seraikela MLA, Champai Soren (63), considered to have considerable support amongst Santhal tribal in the Kolhan, convened meeting of gathbandhanparties at a city hotel. He asked the workers to unite and work for victory.

�The Jamshedpur Lok Sabha is quite complicated. Though the urban voters are present in large numbers however, it is the villagers who are the deciding factor. The party, which will be able to grab the maximum votes,will be the winner. We have plans to move towards villages during campaigning,� said a senior JMM leader.

Sources also informed party supremoShibu Soren has asked JMM leaders to back Soren in every possible way. Guruji has given the party leaders strict instructions to back all support to Champai Soren.

Soren also joined in the Sarhul procession taken out by the KendriyaSarhulUtsavSamity, mid-way near  Kumharpara in Baradwari yesterday.

Significantly, JMM has played the tribal card by fielding a tribal candidate in a general seat Jamshedpur Parliamentary constituency. Soren began the day early by meeting workers of gathbandhan (Congress, JVM and JMM) at Govindpur,Karandih, Ghodadih (Patamda). Thereafter Champai da attended kirtans(religious gathering of tribals) at Dhanchatani (near Asanboni).

BJP MP BidyutBaranMahtoalso attendedsarhul festivities at three locations namely Potka,  Galudih and Jamshedpur. His day began with three hours meeting with BJP MahilaMorcha workers discussing campaign strategy at his Bistupur office.

Mahto said that BJP is the lone party that can ensure development. The former Bahragora MLA of the JMM was inducted into the BJP after he got the ticket for the prestigious Jamshedpur seat.

Meanwhile sources informed that the BJP candidate will soon embark on campaigning. He will be touring the six assembly segments � Bahragora, Jugsalai, Potka, Jamshedpur East and West and Ghatshila � under the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP spokesperson Anil Modi said that since the Election Commission has set strict dos and don�ts to political parties to be followed, they are taking every step to follow Model Code of Conduct.

� On the basis of the reports coming from the constituency, we are confident that BJP candidate from Jamshedpur will emerge the winner. Almost all the political analysts of the city has expressed confidence over his victory are we all assured,� said Modi. He said that every party worker will be involved in the election campaign and will work hard to mobilise the voters.
