Jamshedpur, April 21: Little Flower School (LFS), a premier institution of the steel city, received the third accreditation of the British Council International Dimensions School Award (IDS – 2021-24). The award is specially designed for schools to embed an international dimension in their curriculum. The IDS Coordinators, Ranita Karmakar and Beena Anil, were felicitated in a virtual award ceremony on March 23. The ISA action plan included collaboration with DI Public School in Nepal, and initiated projects like Wings of Rhythm (dance), Sustaining to Sustain (environment), Nourish to Flourish (healthy diet), Cherish before they Perish (endangered species) and The H Factor (happiness quotient).
Several LFS teachers guided the students of UKG to Class XII who participated in the projects with zest. According to LFS authorities, the participating students were transformed into young girls and boys who creatively and innovatively engaged with the learning process. The advancement of technology provided the required tools to bring about a change. The projects were aptly designed to help the students acquire knowledge of different religions, diverse cultures, customs and traditions in other countries. The Comparative Study helped the students to learn the diversity in global culture, enhance communication skills and display a spirit of tolerance, appreciation and teamwork. The dedication, enthusiasm and commitment of the Principal, teachers and students were commendable, paving the way towards ‘our vision to educate, enlighten and empower students to be future global leaders.’
“This award is yet another milestone in the school’s journey towards excellence and a moment of pride for everyone who is a part of Little Flower School,” remarked a senior faculty member.
