Jamshedpur, August 14: The court on Monday sentenced life imprisonment to Sonu Singh and Vinod Singh alias Mowgli, convicted of killing JMM leader cum transporter Upendra Singh on November 30, 2016, in the Jamshedpur Civil Court premises.
The court of ADJ 1 Sanjay Kumar Upadhyay sentenced both of them. Earlier on August 5, the court had acquitted the accused in the case Akhilesh Singh, Ajay Srivastava, Sanjay alias Jojo, Pankaj Singh, Jasbir Singh and Balbir Singh whereas Sonu Singh and Vinod were convicted.
A separate case is going on against accused Harish Singh. A total of 21 people testified in the case.
On November 30, 2016, on the second floor of the Bar Association building of Jamshedpur Civil Court, criminals had shot dead JMM leader cum transporter Upendra Singh, a resident of Bagbeda.
Vinod Singh and Sonu Singh, who shot, were caught by the crowd from the spot. After the information, the police of Sitaramdera police station had reached the spot. Pistol and cartridges were recovered from both.
