Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA) and District Legal Services Authority (DALSA) hosted a massive State-Level Legal Services-cum-Empowerment Camp.
The Sidgora Town Hall served as the hub for this initiative, drawing residents from across the district seeking legal aid and government benefit information.
Virtual Inauguration by Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad
Jharkhand High Court Judge and Executive Chairman of JHALSA, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, inaugurated the National Lok Adalat virtually. In his address, he emphasized that these camps serve as a bridge between the judiciary and the common man, ensuring that legal rights are not just theoretical but accessible to all.
Key Objectives of the Empowerment Camp
The event functioned as more than just a court session; it acted as a one-stop resource for civic empowerment. The primary goals included:
- Swift Dispute Resolution: The National Lok Adalat provided a platform for parties to settle pending civil and compoundable criminal cases through mutual agreement, bypassing lengthy litigation.
- Government Scheme Awareness: Various departmental stalls educated attendees on how to access state and central welfare benefits.
- On-the-Spot Assistance: Authorities facilitated the processing of legal documents and provided consultations for underprivileged individuals who lack access to formal legal representation.
Collaborative Efforts
The synergy between JHALSA Ranchi and DALSA Jamshedpur highlights a coordinated effort to reduce the burden on traditional courts while fostering a more legally literate society. Local judicial officers and administrative staff remained present at Sidgora Town Hall throughout the day to guide beneficiaries through the various legal and welfare processes.
