Jamshedpur leaders join Congress’ National Convention in Gujarat

Ahmedabad/Jamshedpur, April 9: The 84th Maha Adhiveshan of the Indian National Congress, organized under the aegis of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC), was held on April 8 and 9 at Sabarmati Ghat in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The convention was chaired by National President Mallikarjun Kharge and saw the participation of top Congress leaders, including former President Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, MPs, Chief Ministers, Ministers, MLAs and state and district Congress presidents.

From Jamshedpur, senior leaders including former Minister Banna Gupta, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, Ramashray Prasad, and Ashok Chaudhary attended the convention. Jamshedpur District Congress President Anand Bihari Dubey also participated and held political discussions with several national figures including MP Gaurav Gogoi, former Defence Minister P. Chidambaram, and National Spokesperson Alok Kumar.

During the event, Anand Bihari Dubey highlighted plans to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level, especially in rural areas, in connection with the upcoming 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He said that the party would conduct programs to sharpen its organizational structure and deepen its connection with the public.

Former Minister Banna Gupta was the first speaker from the Jharkhand Congress delegation. Addressing the gathering, he said that under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress Party had emerged as the voice of the poor, backward, and minority communities. “While BJP is trying to capture power using religion, Rahul Gandhi is fighting for people’s rights with the Constitution in hand,” Gupta asserted.

He also emphasized that devotion to Lord Ram is a matter of faith, not politics. “Lord Ram lives in every soul and every particle of this nation. We are true devotees of Ram, but BJP exploits religion solely for votes,” he said.

Gupta concluded by expressing confidence that the convention would energize the Congress Party and strengthen its resolve to see Rahul Gandhi become the next Prime Minister of India.
