Jamshedpur lawyers meet DC, demand action against police officer 

Jamshedpur, April 12: The case of the district police sending advocate Chandan Kumar Choubey to jail in handcuffs on Tuesday evening in connection with the violence between two communities on in Kadma’s Shastri Nagar has led to protest from the lawyer’s fraternity.

On Wednesday morning, the advocates protested in the Jamshedpur Court and boycotted the second shift work. On the other hand, a delegation led by Lala Ajit Kumar Ambasht, chairman of District Bar Association ad-hoc committee, met Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav.

During this a memorandum was submitted to the DC demanding suspension of the guilty police officer. Advocate Akshay Kumar Jha told that the advocate was sent to jail like a criminal whereas there is no fault of the said advocate. He had gone to meet the Superintendent of Police with his client in a case. But he was kept in custody.

He said that the ultimatum of action has been given till April 12, Wednesday. If action is not taken against the guilty police officer, on Thursday, April 13, all the advocates will boycott work in the court. Along with this, if needed, they would go to the Governor and the Chief Minister and keep our demands.
