Seraikela, Mar 8: In a devastating road accident on the Seraikela-Kharsawan-Kuchai road near Jilingoda village, the vehicle of Kuchai BDO collided with a culvert, resulting in severe injuries to BDO Sadhucharan Devgam (47 years) and the tragic death of his cousin brother, Banjo Banra, a resident of Musabani, East Singhbhum. The driver of the vehicle, Myka Soy from Ruchaav village of Kuchai, also sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the CHC.

The incident occurred around 3:30 pm on Friday when the BDO’s vehicle lost control while approaching a culvert due to a bus speeding from the opposite direction. The collision caused critical injuries to BDO Sadhucharan Devgam, including broken limbs and internal injuries. The injured were promptly taken to Kuchai CHC with the help of locals and Kuchai Police. BDO Devgam, in a serious condition, was transferred to Seraikela Sadar Hospital, while Banjo Banra was declared dead by doctors.
The bus, approaching at high speed, contributed to the unfortunate accident. BDO Sadhucharan Devgam was en route to Jillingoda to attend a program organized by the head of Jillingda Panchayat. As the vehicle approached the culvert, the oncoming bus at excessive speed led to the driver losing control, resulting in a direct collision with the culvert. The impact caused the BDO’s vehicle to fall beneath the culvert, resulting in severe injuries.
A crowd gathered at the accident site as news spread, with people expressing concern for BDO Sadhucharan Devgam’s well-being. Kuchai Police arrived at the scene, taking custody of the vehicle and the deceased’s body for further investigation and post-mortem procedures. The injured BDO has been transferred to TMH for advanced medical treatment.
