Jamshedpur: Eight young karate students from Ninja Sports Martial Art (Karate of Jharkhand) brought glory to Jamshedpur by winning 21 medals, including nine gold, at the NKF East Zone Karate Championship held in Birbhum, West Bengal. The event was organized by the National Karate Federation of India.
The winners, trained under coach Ganesh Singh, were felicitated at MLA Saryu Roy’s office in Jamshedpur. Trustees Ashok Goyal and Ashutosh Rai of the Swarnarekha Area Development Trust honoured the young achievers and their coach. “Whenever these children need support, our trust will always stand by them,” said Ashutosh Rai during the ceremony.
Coach Ganesh Singh expressed gratitude to MLA Saryu Roy, crediting his financial assistance for making the children’s participation possible. “Without his help, these eight children would not have reached Birbhum,” he said.
The medallists include Aryan Gupta, Abhishek Singh, Ashutosh Kumar, Pragya Singh, Anchal Verma, Sahdev Napit, Manoj Napit and Mohit Gop. Their success has been hailed as an inspiration for budding sportspersons in Jharkhand.
