Jamshedpur Jyoti Agarwal Murder Case: Two arrested, sent to jail, weapons recovered

Jamshedpur, April 4: Chandil police have made significant progress in the investigation of the murder case of Jyoti Agarwal, the wife of businessman Ravi Agarwal from Sonari, Jamshedpur. Vishal Prasad alias Vishal Kalindi and his main associate Prakash alias Bonda alias Shankar Devgan, the main shooter in the case, were arrested by Chandil police from Mazgaon in West Singhbhum. They were subsequently sent to jail on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference at the Chandil Sub-Divisional Police Officer’s office, SDPO Sunil Kumar Rajwar stated that on the night of March 29, Jyoti Agarwal was fatally shot by unknown assailants on NH 33 between Kandarbera Wave International Hotel in Chandil. Initially, Jyoti Agarwal’s father, Premchand Agarwal, accused his son-in-law Ravi Agarwal of the murder. However, police investigation uncovered new leads in the case.

Earlier, Pankaj Kumar Sahni, Rohit Kumar Dubey, and Mukesh Kumar Mishra, along with Ravi Agarwal, were arrested and sent to jail on April 1 in connection with the Jyoti Agarwal murder case. Within just 48 hours of the incident, the main shooter, Vishal Prasad alias Vishal Kalindi, and his associate Prakash alias Bonda alias Shankar Devgan were arrested and sent to jail.

SDPO Sunil Kumar Rajwar further disclosed that an iron silver-colored pistol, a cartridge, and two smartphones were recovered from the two arrested individuals. Both accused reside near the Hanuman temple located near Babudih Lalbhatta under the Sidhgora police station in East Singhbhum district.

The raiding team included SDPO Sunil Kumar Rajwar, Chandil Inspector Ajay Kumar, Chandil police station in-charge Varun Yadav, Chowk police station in-charge Bajrang Mahato, Kharsawan police station in-charge Gaurav Kumar, Kapali OP in-charge Sonu Kumar, Ichagarh police station in-charge Vikramaditya Pandey, Naval Prakash of Puani of Chandil police station, Amda OP in-charge Avinash Kumar, and Sandeep Kumar Dubey of the technical branch, among others.
