Ravi Agarwal orchestrated wife’s murder, police unveil details

Motive remains elusive, four suspects, including husband, incarcerated

Chaibasa, April  1: In a significant development, police have detained four individuals, including businessman Ravi Aggarwal, in connection with the murder of Jyoti Aggarwal, wife of Ravi Aggarwal, near Kanderbeda in the Chandil police station area of Seraikela Kharsawan district. Alongside Ravi Aggarwal, suspects Pankaj Kumar Sahni, Rohit Kumar Dubey, and Mukesh Mishra, all residents of Babudih Lal Bhatta, Jamshedpur, have been remanded to judicial custody.

However, authorities are yet to ascertain the motive behind Ravi Aggarwal’s involvement in the crime. Despite extensive investigation, no significant reason for the murder has been unearthed, with police attributing the act to minor disputes between the couple. The sheer gravity of the crime juxtaposed with the seemingly trivial reasons has left the community perplexed.

The murder, which occurred on March 29, was the culmination of a meticulously planned conspiracy spanning two months. Superintendent of Police Seraikela, in a press conference held at the auto cluster of Adityapur, shed light on the intricacies of the case, revealing Ravi Aggarwal’s premeditated intent to commit the crime. Aggarwal had been concocting a false narrative of extortion to camouflage his sinister intentions.

Jyoti Aggarwal given alcohol before fatal shooting

Details emerged suggesting that on the evening of March 29, Ravi Aggarwal purportedly treated his wife, Jyoti Aggarwal, to alcohol at Mini Punjab Restaurant. Witnesses claim that both Ravi and Jyoti consumed alcohol before embarking on a car journey around 9:18 PM. Instead of their usual route to Aastha Hitech City, Ravi diverted onto the National Highway.

As the journey progressed, Ravi purportedly stopped the car between Kanderbera and Wave International Hotel under the guise of feeling unwell. However, waiting assailants seized the opportunity and fatally shot Jyoti Aggarwal, leaving her deceased at the scene. These chilling details shed light on the events leading up to the tragic incident.

Mukesh Mishra allegedly accompanied shooters and fled scene

In a startling revelation, it has been disclosed that Mukesh Mishra, a resident of Babudih Lal Bhatta in the Sidgora police station area, allegedly served as the driver for Ravi Aggarwal and his associated shooters during the fatal incident. Mishra purportedly arrived at the scene alongside the assailants in a car, facilitating the execution of the crime.

Following the commission of the heinous act, Mukesh Mishra reportedly absconded from the scene with the shooters in his Swift car. Meanwhile, Ravi Aggarwal purportedly transported his deceased wife, Jyoti Aggarwal, to TMH (Tata Main Hospital), where he fabricated a narrative claiming that unknown miscreants had shot his wife due to unpaid extortion money.

However, Jyoti Aggarwal’s father has lodged a complaint alleging that Ravi Aggarwal was complicit in his wife’s murder. He cited longstanding tensions between the couple, which had previously escalated to an attempted murder by strangulation in Gangtok. Although an agreement had been brokered between the parties following the incident, recent events had reignited fears, leading to suspicions of a conspiracy to murder Jyoti Aggarwal in the Bistupur area.

Shooters paid advance of Rs 2 Lakh

It has been revealed that the shooters involved in the conspiracy to murder Jyoti Aggarwal were allegedly paid an advance sum of Rs 2 lakh for the execution of the heinous act. Initially, a contract amount worth Rs 8 lakh was purportedly offered to the shooters as payment. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the designated shooter failed to reach the planned location, prompting the return of Rs 7 lakh of the advance.

Despite this setback, the sinister plot persisted, with a renewed contract offering Rs 16 lakh for Jyoti’s murder. Once again, an advance of Rs 2 lakh was provided to the shooters to facilitate the purchase of a pistol for carrying out the ghastly deed.

Main shooter remains at large

Authorities have disclosed that the primary shooter responsible for carrying out the fatal attack on Jyoti Aggarwal is currently evading law enforcement, sparking an intensive search operation. Despite concerted efforts, the main shooter remains absconding, prompting heightened vigilance from authorities.

Additionally, two other individuals implicated in the crime are also being actively pursued by police. Several locations have been raided as part of the ongoing search efforts to locate and apprehend the main shooter and the other suspects involved in the heinous act.

Law enforcement officials have assured the public that no stone will be left unturned in their quest to bring the perpetrators to justice. With the search operation intensifying, authorities remain optimistic about the imminent arrest of the fugitive individuals.
