Jamshedpur: Jugsalai Idgah Maidan freed from encroachment

Jamshedpur, Feb 14: Police launched an anti-encroachment drive at Idgah Maidan in Jugsalai on Tuesday. Several vehicles parked at Idgah Maidan, which was declared a no-parking zone recently, were seized today. No parking challans were stuck to the vehicles whose owners were called to the spot and asked to remoe their vehicles immediately, sources said.

Sources said members of Jugsalai Idgah Committee had complained to Jugsalai police and traffic police department regarding the encroachment of Idgah Maidan. The said ground is encroached through unauthorized parking of vehicles. Due to parking of vehicles, the track specially prepared for morning walk at Idgah Maidan could not be used by the local residents. Many commercial vehicles were also being parked for loading and unloading of goods here, sources said.

Two years ago, Jugsalai Municipality had paved Idgah Maidan with pavers block at the cost of Rs 50 lakh. Three months ago, the ground was declared as a no parking zone by Jugsalai Nagar Parishad.
