Jamshedpur: JNAC planning to run city buses once again

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Sep 12: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) is planning to resume city bus service after several years of gap. According to sources, the Special Officer Sanjay Kumar is working on the route chart of the proposed bus service. Once the route chart is prepared, the number of buses that would ply on each route would be fixed and if needed, more would be acquired, sources said.

After all basic planning work is completed, a proposal would be sent to the Urban Development Department which would purchase new buses and handed them over to JNAC, sources said.

JNAC had received 50 buses under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission in 2009. Save for a handful, most of the buses have become dilapidated now. JNAC could never ply the buses simultaneously on various city routes.
