Jamshedpur, Nov 2: Jamshedpur’s cultural organization, Jharkhand Sanskritik Manch (JSM), showcased outstanding performances at the 19th National Theatre and Dance Competition (NTDC) organized by the Sanskar Bharati Theatre Center in Agra. JSM, under the direction of popular theatre person, Shivlal Sagar, was ranked 3rd . The JSM from Jamshedpur, won 10 Awards in various categories.
The entire theater troupe was enthusiastic about their glittering wins. It may be mentioned that participants from various states across the country took part in the 19th National Theatre and Dance Competition. Jharkhand Sanskritik Manch presented the highly critical play, “Surya ki Antim Kiran se Surya ki Pahali Kiran Tak,’ for which the team received a standing ovation from the packed auditorium.
Among the participants in the competition were Shivlal Sagar, Premanjali Sagar, Imaan Sheikh, Divyanshi, Anamika Haldar, Suman Kumar Behra, Sumit Jaiswal, Chandni Kumari, and Gajendra Kumar.
Sumit Kumar Behra was awarded the first prize for Best Character Actor, Chandni Kumari received the first prize for Best Character Actress, and Premanjali Sagar was honored with the first prize for Best Costume Design. Sumit Jaiswal received the second-best actor’s award while Divyanshi bagged the award for second-best actress. Gajendra Kumar received the award as the second-best ‘Stage Fire King.’ In addition, JSM received the second prize for Nukkad Natak with Gajendra Kumar being awarded the third prize for supporting actor. Shivlal Sagar was awarded the third prize in the Best director’s category for the play, ‘Surya ki Antim Kiran se Surya ki Pahali Kiran Tak’ which too earned the third place in the Best Drama segment.
