Jamshedpur jeweler injured in firing

Jamshedpur, June 3: Owner of Ajay Jewelers, Ajay Verma was fired at by miscreants at 8 pm on Thursday. A bullet hit him near his shoulder. He was rushed to MGM Hospital in Mango from where he was referred to Tata main Hospital for better treatment.

Ajay Jewelers is located in Sankosai Road # 5 under Olidih police station in Mango. According to injured Ajay Verma, a few days ago, two young men, Raja and Thapa had demanded extortion money from him and he had reported the matter to the Olidih police station. But Verma said that due to lack of CCTV footage evidence, the police had not shown any keenness.

On Thursday Ajay Verma was standing in front of his residence in Khanka locality also under Olidih police station when Raja and Thapa arrived near the jeweler’s residence on a motorcycle and fired at him. A bullet hit him near his shoulder. He is presently undergoing treatment at Tata Main Hospital. On receiving the information, senior police officials where they interrogated the injured Ajay Verma and started an investigation.
