Jamshedpur, November 1: The reinstatement of Trade Apprentice and JET (Junior Engineer Trainees) in Tata Steel will be done within Tata Steel itself.
There will be no reinstatement of apprentices in two subsidiary companies of Tata Steel.
This has been finally approved after talks between Tata Steel management and Tata Workers Union president Sanjeev Chaudhary Tunnu.
At present around 1100 trade apprentice employees are taking training. Their direct reinstatement will be in Tata Steel only.
Sanjeev Chaudhary Tunnu said that the management and the union agree that trade apprentices and JETs are the backbone of the company. Because of this, it will be difficult to weaken the apprentice or restore it with any other pattern. In such a situation, it has been decided that trade apprentices will be appointed in Tata Steel only.
As per the earlier agreement between the management and the union, non-technical people will be reinstated in both the associate companies. This includes Tata Steel Support Services Limited and Tata Steel Technical Services. After the meetings it was decided that restitution would be made by both the companies.
