
Devotees participate in large numbers
Jamshedpur: After staying in the city for a day the jagriti yatra started its journey for next destination. Today, the yatra visited various gurudwaras of city comprising Jugsalai Station Road, Gauri Shanker Road and Buramamines. In send-off ceremony at Sakchi Gurudwara Senior BJP leader Amarpreet Singh Kale said that Guru Nanak Dev jee taught Sikhs to eliminate fear itself, to become fearless.
A specially designed palki (palanquin) that is on a countrywide `yatra’ starting Bidar in Karnataka, visited various places in the city on Tuesday. The yatra has been taken out to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak this year. Sikh devotees in large numbers led by Central Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee ( CGPC) welcomed the yatra.

The Yatra, meant to spread the message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji all overthe country for the mankind. In a specially-designed palanquin, the Yatra started from Gurudwara Takht Sachkhand Hazur Sahib with mounting of Shri Guru GranthSahib Ji.
Government of India has commemorated 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji from November, 2018 at national as well as international level in a befitting manner. The Year long Celebration includes a number of commemorative as well as constructive activities will be taken up during the commemoration period.
A number of religious activities like kirtan, katha, prabhat pheri, langar and educational activities such as seminars, workshops, lectures etc. will be organised. SGPC, Amritsar will be the knowledge partner of the Government of India. Commemorative coin and postage stamp will also be released.
