Jamshedpur, Jan 17: Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha’s (BJM) District Secretary, Rajesh Kumar Jha issued a press release accusing Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Special Officer, Krishna Kumar of promoting corruption and looting lakh of rupees daily from poor vendors in the city through subordinate parking contractors.
Rajesh Jha in his press communiqué said that JNAC’s Special Officer Krishna Kumar had given a statement in a news channel that the money being collected by the contractor in the name of parking from the vegetable market set up in the parking in front of Sakchi Basant Cinema was justified. “His irresponsible statement stinks of corrupt practices,” accused Rajesh Kumar Jha.
BJM District Secretary, Rajesh Kumar Jha asked in the press release, “The tender for the parking lot in front of Basant Talkies had ended three months earlier and, as such, the money being charged continuously since that period is nothing but illegal. It defies all logic that the sums being collected are continued processes are being done by the contractor without any tender bids or any written order to the effect. The district administration should launch an investigation and unearth the truth on this matter.”
Rajesh Kumar Jha has urged the District Deputy Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into the working style of the Special Officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee and ensure strictest legal action against those involved in this blatant move and stopping such unconstitutional activity.
