Jamshedpur: IGNOU inks deal with Kenya varsity

Jamshedpur, December 9: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and the Open University of Kenya (OUK) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

 Regional director of IGNOU, Dr. S. Mohanty and coordinator of IGNOU Dr Tripura Jha gave the above information.

They said that the MoU was exchanged in the presence of principal secretary for higher education and research, Ministry of Education, Kenya and Professor Nageswara Rao, vice chancellor IGNOU.

With the agreement IGNOU and OUK will cooperate in various domains. Key points include facilitating student and faculty mobility, incorporating cutting-edge technology for teaching and learning, capacity-building programs for OUK staff, curriculum development in line with market needs, sharing expertise in e-learning platforms, joint research and development initiatives and assistance.

It will also led to two institution collaborate in creation of policy framework, support for new program development and sharing of educational resources. OUK may also seek academic and financial support from IGNOU for specific initiatives, including potential collaboration through EdCIL for long-term benefits.

 (OUK) and  IGNOU representatives also visited IGNOU’s electronic media production center (EMPC) and appreciated the initiative of the University.

The signing of the MOU marked an important milestone in the collaboration between these prestigious institution.
