Jamshedpur, May 3: After prolonged legal disputes, the path for electing the governing body of Adarsh Sahakari Griha Nirman Swavalambhi Samiti Limited in Sonari has finally been cleared. The elections will be conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, following a Supreme Court directive.

The DC released the official election schedule on Friday. The process began with the publication of the voter list on May 2. Claims and objections can be submitted until May 10, with final disposal by May 13. The final voter list will be released on May 14.

Nomination papers will be accepted on June 16 and 17 and scrutiny will be done on June 18. The list of valid nominations will be published on June 22. Voting will take place on July 6, with results declared the same day.

“There are 2,518 registered voters in the list,” an official confirmed. Detailed election-related information is available on the district website and the notice boards of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the Samiti office and the District Cooperative Office.

To ensure transparency and timely execution, dedicated election cells have been formed. Deputy Commissioner Mittal will serve as the Chief Election Officer, with the ADM and ADC acting as additional officers.

The election, which has long been delayed due to internal conflicts, is now expected to bring organizational clarity to the cooperative society. It remains to be seen how members respond after years of administrative stagnation.
