Jamshedpur, Jan 18: A two-day international conference on sintering and pelletizing (ICSP 2023) kicked off at the Beldih Club in Jamshedpur on Wednesday.
The conference was inaugurated by Uttam Singh, Vice President, Iron Making, Tata Steel. This conference is being organised by Tata Steel along with Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter and Pellet Manufacturers Association of India (PMAI).
The event focuses on innovations in process control and best practices in operational maintenance in sintering and pelletizing, along with challenges and opportunities for DRI grade pellets. It also emphasizes sustainable solutions in the area of energy and emissions.
The conference brings together around 250 participants representing over 50 leading global organisations providing an exclusive technical forum to discuss, deliberate, exchange and explore critical areas related to sintering and pelletization.
On first day of ICSP-2023, keynote and lectures were delivered by eminent professionals from the agglomeration industry and academia. On 19th January, four technical sessions containing 20 presentations from the participants are planned.
It’s need of the day. There is also a need to focus on utilization of industrial waste for recycling and steel making with value addition.
