Jamshedpur to host 34th Senior National Archery Championship

Jamshedpur : Country�s leading men and women archers will participate in the 34th Senior National (recurve and compound) Championship to be held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex from December 22 to 25.

The three-day tourney will witness some class performances from the promising archers of the country. The championship is being organised jointly by Steel Plant Sports Board and Tata Steel.

Archers like Deepika Kumari, Rimil Biruily Laishram Bombayla Devi, Dola Banerjee, , Jayanta Talukdar,, Chekrawolu Swuro, Rahul Banerjee, Tarundeep Rai, Mangal Singh Champia, Atanu Das and their compound counterparts Rajat Chouhan, Jyoti Surekha, Gagandeep Kaur and Manjuda Soy will be vying for top honours.

Archery Association of India (AAI) secretary general Anil Kamneni and competition director H L Jindal will participate in the event.

Country�s number one recurve and compound archers Deepika Kumari (Jharkhand) and Rajat Chouhan (Rajasthan) will hog limelight during the championship.

“Archery being the natural play of Jharkhand it is paramount for us to do better than other teams. And, for this preparations in advance is a must with selective best,” informed, an official of Jharkhand Archery Association.
