Jamshedpur, Nov 12: Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Minister Banna Gupta visited the residence of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and social activist Astik Mahato to express their condolences following the death of Mahato’s mother. The leaders conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family, with Chief Minister Soren personally meeting each member of the family and speaking with Astik Mahato.

Mahato’s mother is remembered for her significant contribution to the Jharkhand movement, as she supported the cause financially by selling off her own land. Many prominent leaders of the movement, including Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, Shahid Nirmal Mahato, and Shailendra Mahato, organized efforts for the creation of a separate Jharkhand state from her residence. Her support for the cause earned her widespread respect and honor within the community.

As a mark of respect In recognition of her contribution, Chief Minister Soren came directly from Ranchi to Sonari Airport in a helicopter. He proceeded straight to Astik Mahato’s home, where he paid tribute and offered condolences to the family. Along with Minister Banna Gupta, former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar, and other dignitaries, Chief Minister Soren paid his respects and provided comfort to the family before departing.
