Jamshedpur, Oct. 10: Amidst news of middlemen posing hurdle in implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Health and Family Welfare Department has issued an order to all the superintendents of Government Hospitals and Civil Surgeons to ensure that the people get all the benefits under the scheme. Principal Secretary of the department Nidhi Khare said that there have been reports that several genuine people are being fooled by middlemen in the name of treatment at the hospitals.
In an order issued by Khare the superintendents of Government Hospitals and Civil Surgeons have been asked to conduct sessions with various department heads and nursing heads to clarify norms related to the scheme and ensure strict implementation of the insurance schemes. She said that all the civil surgeons must launch a drive and ensure that there is no influence of middlemen. Khare also asked to conduct training sessions for fourth grade staff who are always in touch with patients.
Ayushman Bharat Yojana or National Health Protection Scheme is a program which aims to provide a service to create a healthy, capable and content new India. It has two goals, one, creating a network of health and wellness infrastructure across the nation to deliver comprehensive primary healthcare services, and another is to provide insurance cover to at least 40 per cent of India’s population which is majorly deprived of secondary and tertiary care services.Indu Bhushan appointed as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Dr Dinesh Arora appointed as deputy ceo of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Ayushman Bharat consists of two major elements.National Health Protection Scheme. Wellness centres. National Health Protection Scheme will provide cashless treatment to patients. And wellness centres will provide primary care to the patients. In fact, the government will upgrade existing Public Health Centres to Wellness Centres.
