Jamshedpur: Haj out of bounds for people above 65 years of age

Jamshedpur, April 11:  The application date for Haj-2022 has been extended till April 22. Following the new guidelines of the Government of Saudi Arabia, the Haj Committee of India has made this announcement. Convener of Haj office at the Sakchi Jama Masjid, Md Iqbal said that new applicants will not have to pay Rs 300 extra as was the norm earlier. Md Iqbal informed that as per the new guidelines, only those below 65 years of age as on April 30, 2022 would be allowed to gon Haj pilgrimage. The fresh guidelines include that those who are above 65 years of age as on April 30, 2022, will not be eligible for the Haj trip. Women who are below 65 years of age but their Mehram (male accompanists) who are of 65 years of age and above will have their applications for the Haj trip cancelled. The new guidelines issued also state that those who have applied for travel as assistants of 70 years old persons too would not be eligible for the Haj trip. Valid Indian International passports issued before April 22 and valid till December 31, 2022, COVID negative report of RT-PCR tests will have to be produced 72 hours before commencement of the journey.
