‘Jamshedpur Haat–Palash Mart’ to Empower Local Artisans

Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Karn Satyarthi formally inaugurated the ‘Jamshedpur Haat–Palash Mart’ in Sakchi today, marking a major step toward strengthening local entrepreneurship. The district administration developed this two-storey facility in one of Jamshedpur’s busiest commercial hubs to provide grassroots producers with direct market access.

A Modern Hub for Traditional Crafts

Designed like a modern showroom, the Haat offers a dedicated platform for local artisans, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and small entrepreneurs. It allows them to showcase and sell traditional and value-added products directly to urban consumers.

While addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the Haat creates a vital market linkage. He noted that the initiative promotes indigenous products and bolsters the local economy by fostering entrepreneurship.
