Jamshedpur: Newly elected Mayor Mrs. Sudha Gupta officially assumed her office at the Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) today. Immediately after taking the chair, she met with municipal officers and staff to review the current status of ongoing civic projects.
A Warm Welcome and New Priorities
Deputy Administrator Krishna Kumar welcomed the Mayor with a floral bouquet and escorted her to the Mayor’s Chamber. During her first official meeting, Mayor Gupta emphasized that the corporation exists to serve the public. She directed officials to prioritize the following essential services:

Sanitation: Cleaning all wards and improving waste management.

Infrastructure: Repairing roads and ensuring functional street lighting.

Basic Needs: Guaranteeing a steady drinking water supply.

Grievance Redressal: Solving public problems with speed and efficiency.

Mayor Gupta called for a new era of teamwork, transparency, and accountability. She pledged to take concrete steps toward transforming Mango into a clean, beautiful, and well-managed urban center.
“I feel immense pride and responsibility today,” the Mayor stated. “This position is more than a duty—it is an opportunity to serve. I thank the people of Mango for placing their trust in me.”
The “Open Door” Policy
To ensure residents receive help without delays, the Mayor promised to develop a time-bound grievance system. She highlighted that the administration would use technology to make services more accessible and transparent.
“I want every citizen to know that the doors of this Municipal Corporation remain open for them,” Gupta added. “We will resolve your problems with total commitment so that no resident has to struggle for basic rights.”
