Jamshedpur: As part of the city’s Sikh community’s tradition, the Guru Nanak Seva Dal has begun preparations for the annual Grand Kirtan Darbar to bid farewell to the year and welcome the new year in the divine presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
During the first meeting held at the Guru Ramdas Langar Hall, Sakchi Gurudwara, founder president Sardar Harvinder Singh Mantu announced the lineup of renowned participants, including Singh Sahib Giani Man Singh (Kathavachak from Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar) and Hazoori Ragis Bhai Gurkeerat Singh and Bhai Kamaljeet Singh. Local Hazoori Ragis from Sakchi Gurudwara will also participate in the two-day event scheduled for December 30 and 31.
The event will feature uninterrupted Guru Ka Langar in the afternoons and refreshments during evening sessions. The Sikh community and various local organizations have pledged full support for the program.
Mantu emphasized the importance of engaging the youth in such initiatives, announcing plans to hand over organizational responsibilities to the younger generation from next year. Leaders such as Gurdev Singh Raja, Mahendra Singh, and Dr. Udham Singh stressed the need for collective participation to make the event a grand success.
The meeting, chaired by Harvinder Singh Mantu, began with an Ardas by Jathedar Jarnail Singh. Responsibilities for langar service were assigned to Satbir Singh Goldu, while the Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sakchi Unit, will manage other logistical arrangements.
