Jamshedpur: Gurpreet, Loveleen and Rohan shine at Hola Mohalla sports meet

Jamshedpur, March 5: Gurpreet Singh won the squatting contest while Loveleen Kaur and Rohan Singh were declared the fastest sprinters in the sports competition organised by religious organisation Dharma Prachar Committee, Jamshedpur as part of the Hola Mohalla celebration on Sunday, March 5.

Local Sikh children enthusiastically participated in the contest games organized at Gurudwara Sri Guru Sabha in Mango on Sunday. 145 Sikh children from Jamshedpur participated in the sports competitions with full vigor.

Gurpreet Singh won the squatting title by beating Karandeep Singh and Gurkaran Singh in one of the toughest fights. Loveleen Kaur became the fastest runner in the senior category. Harjinder Kaur won silver and Simran Kaur bagged bronze.

In the junior category, Jaspreet Singh won the squatting contest while Sukhpreet Singh and Nishan Singh clinched silver and bronze medals respectively.

In the senior group, Rohan Singh became the fastest sprinter while Jaskaran Singh and Karandeep Singh finished second and third respectively.

On the occasion fun games were also organized for kids.

80 m race, sack race, frog race, quiz and sit and draw competition was also organized by the committee.

Earlier, Sikh preacher Gurpratap Singh shared the history of Hola Mohalla and why the festival is celebrated. Later, all the winners were felicitated.
