Jamshedpur, Nov 6: The fervour with which the festival of Deepawali was celebrated has raised hopes among the residents that the upcoming festivals will also be celebrated in the same way. The Jharkhand government has issued guidelines for Chhath, due to which it is certain that Chhath will also be celebrated with fanfare.

In such a situation, former BJP district president Abhay Singh has appealed to the Jharkhand government to give permission for Nagar Kirtan on November 19, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru of Sikhs.

Patron of Nagrik Suvidha Manch, Jharkhand, Abhay Singh has said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nagar Kirtan was not organized by Sikh organizations last year, but now the environment has changed. In such a situation, there is an appeal to the Government of Jharkhand, making guidelines on Nagar Kirtan for the Sikhs to carry out Nagar Kirtan. In Chhath Puja, when Hindus will celebrate the Mahaparva Chhath with faith and reverence at Chhath Ghat, similarly Nagar Kirtan can also be organized.

The Jharkhand government should take a decision on this immediately, so that the Sikh community can prepare for the event. Due to late decision, the preparation for the event is not done properly.
