Jamshedpur: Goods worth Rs 10 lakh looted from Galudih company

Jamshedpur, March 9: Armed criminals looted industrial goods worth Rs 10 lakh from State Industries Private Limited situated in Darisai village under Galudih police station area late Tuesday night, sources said.

Sources said the criminals, reportedly 12 in number, barged into the company on a four-wheeler in the late hours and took the night guards at gunpoint. When the guards, Bindu Rajak and Kamal Rajak, tried to protest, the criminals injured them severely by hitting them with a rod.

The guards told police two youths scaled the company’s boundary wall and attacked Bindu. After injuring Bindu, the criminals snatched the keys from him to open the entry gate of the company. When Kamal rushed to the scene on hearing noise, he was also injured in the same manner. Bindu was gagged and tied to a chair. Thereafter, the criminals entered the company premises with the four-wheeler and went on a looting spree for two hours. After loading various valuable items on the vehicle and looting the mobile phones of the guards, the culprits decamped from the scene.

Police reached the scene around 2.30 am and sent the injured company staff to Niramaya Hospital.

The officer in-charge of Galudih inquired about the matter around 11 am. He was informed that Bindu was sitting inside the main gate of the company while Kamal was near the company office at some distance.

Investigators said they were trying to track down the culprits on the basis of information obtained from eyewitnesses so far.
