Jamshedpur, April 1. A trailer ran over a student riding a bicycle near the toll bridge on Marine Drive under Kadma police station.
Rajni Tudu, a student of Indo-Danish Tool Room, who was riding a bicycle, was seriously injured in this incident. The injured girl was immediately taken to MGM Hospital for treatment in a PCR vehicle. She died during treatment there. She was a resident of Sido-Kanhu Basti.
The driver of the trailer was trying to run away, but the local people caught him. The police caught the driver and seized the trailer and took it to the police station.
Police ASI Akhilash Prasad, posted in the PCR vehicle, said that he received information that a trailer had run over the girl near the toll roundabout. After getting the information, they reached the spot and took the girl to MGM Hospital for immediate treatment. She died during treatment there.
Locals told them that the trailer was going towards Adityapur via Marine Drive, while the girl was going towards Kadma from Adityapur by bicycle. She got hit by the trailer at the roundabout itself.
On the other hand, after getting the information about the incident of road accident, Neeraj Singh, state convenor of Bharatiya Janata Party’s business cell reached the hospital and met the family members. Due to the poor economic condition of the family, Neeraj Singh provided financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to the family members for the immediate last rites.
Neeraj Singh said that he will make every possible effort to stop this type of accident by meeting the district administration regarding this matter because this type of accident keeps happening in Marine Drive.
