Jamshedpur girl Anushka Kachhap enter semifinals of Jharkhand Junior Badminton Championship

Dhanbad, Nov 2: Jamshedpur’s young shuttler Anushka Kachhap displayed remarkable form to storm into the semifinals of the girls’ under-15 singles category at the Yonex Sunrise Jharkhand State Junior Badminton Championship, currently underway at the Indoor Stadium in Dhanbad.

In the quarterfinals, Anushka dominated her opponent Shradha Sinha of Ranchi with a convincing 21-05, 21-04 victory. Alongside Anushka, Shambhavi Burman of Ranchi, Anisha Patra of Bokaro, and Aashana Tigga of Gumla also secured their places in the semifinals of the girls’ under-15 singles event. Shambhavi defeated Ladlee Bose of Deoghar 21-19, 21-15, Anisha overcame Namrata Toppo of Ranchi 21-09, 21-08, and Aashana outclassed Aqsa Firdous of Bokaro 21-09, 21-08.

In the boys’ under-15 singles category, top contender Samvith Ramesh and Aniket Singh of Ranchi, Surdeep Kumar of Bokaro, and Rajdeep of Giridih advanced to the semifinals after impressive performances. Samvith defeated Ranjan Kumar Singh of Lohardagga 21-09, 21-12, while Aniket battled past Krish Kumar of Latehar 21-05, 13-21, 21-11. Surdeep edged out Ankit Kumar 21-14, 24-22, and Rajdeep beat Md Mojahid Raja of Ranchi 21-13, 16-21, 21-16.

In the girls’ under-17 category, Anu Shristhi Oraon of Latehar, Anushka Kachhap and Anishka Tyagi of Jamshedpur, Shristi Suman of Deoghar, and Aashana Tigga of Gumla advanced to the quarterfinals after comfortable wins in their pre-quarterfinal matches. Anushka continued her fine form, defeating Namrata Toppo of Ranchi 15-04, 15-02.
