Jamshedpur: Amandeep Kaur, a cadet of Tata Steel Athletic Training Centre has been selected to represent Jharkhand in the under 18 high jump event in the women’s category at the Khelo India Youth Games 2023. Amandeep’s exceptional talent and dedication have earned her this prestigious opportunity. During the selection trials, she achieved an impressive jump of 1.50 meters, showcasing her remarkable athletic ability and potential.
A student of Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur, Amandeep achieved a remarkable feat by equalling the CISCE School national record in high jump at the 25th CISCE Zonal Athletics Championship held at JRD Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on 11-12 August.
City’s long jumper had won a gold medal and broke the state meet record at the 33rd East Zone Junior Athletics Championship held at Patliputra Stadium in Patna.
Her journey of success has been nurtured under the expert guidance of sports mentor Sanjeev Kumar at JRD Sports Complex, where her continuous practice has been dedicated to honing her skills.
Amandeep Kaur’s extraordinary accomplishment in the high jump event has been acknowledged and applauded by both the school management and the sports department.
