Jamshedpur: Thanks to the newly-formed Willpower Ride Club (WRC) differently abled can now look forward to visiting tourist sports across Jharkhand.
East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Ravishankar Shukla flagged off the ride from near the district collectorate in presence of DDC B. Maheshwari , SDO Chandan Kumar and Zila Parishad vice-chairman Rajkumar Singh.

On their maiden visit the WRC members started with a ride to Narwapahar, 20 km from Jamshedpur, on their three-wheeler scooters on Sunday morning and spent several hours, enjoying the beauty of the place located near Jaduguda in East Singhbhum. They also spread message of save water.
This is our ambitious project as differently abled dont get an opportunity to visit tourist spots due to some reasons or the other . We formed the club a month back by keeping this thing in mind. The club wants to give them opportunity to visit different places and widen their horizon. We will also maintain cleanliness at tourist spots. Our objective also includes providing a platform to differently abled to display their skills, said WRC founder and chairman Arun Kumar Singh.
According to Singh, they will go for rides in periodical intervals with help from well wishers. Todays ride took place with the help of our well wishers, he said, adding they would also conduct interactive sessions among the differently abled.
Another official of the club admitted that Jharkhand is not the most hospitable of places for people that have some form of disability. But things are changing, albeit slowly. A fair number of resorts and hotels, big and small, now put in a lot of effort to make the stay of differently-abled people as comfortable as possible.
Many differently-abled people who wish to travel are afraid due to lack of suitable transportation facilities, easily accessible hotel rooms and sightseeing points at tourist destinations. They also face other issues such as improper travel information, lack of wheelchair-friendly transport and apathy of the public, said the official.
The club will bring the abled and the differently-abled together for visits. Their services include specialised equipment, a fleet of wheelchair accessible vans, and experienced guides.
