Jamshedpur, July 22 : City got its first Toddler�s Den at Little Hearts School campus in Bistupur. Social worker RuchiNarendran inaugurated the new facility on Monday. The den is a unique play area for toddlers aged 1.2 years and above. Toddler’s Den will provide the little ones with an opportunity to interact and experience a school environment for a short period of time every day so that they are well adjusted and comfortable when it is time to start learning.
�It is an innovative step and we have already started the admission process. The idea is to make toddlers accustomed to the school environment.ArthavAdesara is our first enrolment and we are looking forward to help more toddlers to make the best advantage. At Toddlers Den, the young ones enter a special room designed just for them with low seating (or sleeping), a changing station and age appropriate toys. We are also providing a special bag that will have all the accessories required,� said RubinaBodhanwala, principal, Little Hearts School.
She further added: �Toddlers will be here just for an hour and during that hour not only the little ones but even the parents would prepare themselves to remain away from their loved ones. We have LEDs that will have special screening of poems and cartoons to get the kids involved in it. As per our plans sanitation will be maintained through a no outdoor shoes policy.Students will have their own slippers just for the den, daily change of sheets, a member of the sub staff dedicated just to them. Once students begin to enjoy this short �daily outing� , they will ease their way into school�.
The principalsaid that Toddler�s Den will encouragekids to learn while playing, with a plethora of opportunities and tools at their disposal to help them chart their own learning journeys. They will spend an hour every day for six months programme.
A school teacher said that Little Hearts provides a fun learning environment to prepare children for their future. �We also teach basic life skills in a global educational environment help in cultivating a love of learning that goes a long way towards making your child school-ready. This is why parents who are aware of the importance of quality early education are taking the preschool route to develop the social, emotional, and cognitive skills of their children,� she noted.
Little Hearts School also dedicated an Audio Visual room for the kids. On the occasion, social worker Bailey Bodhanwala, Tina Bodhanwalaand several other guests were present.
