Jamshedpur gangster Akhilesh Singh firing case: Statements of accused to be recorded Jan 24

Jamshedpur, Jan 13: In the ongoing case of the attempted firing on notorious Akhilesh Singh in Jamshedpur Civil Court premises on May 24, 2014, the court of ADJ-4 Anand Mani Tripathi announced that it will close the evidence process and record the statements of 14 accused on January 24.

The case stems from an incident in which Sarabjit Singh alias Chhabbu, along with his accomplice Ravindra Singh alias Honey, attempted to shoot Akhilesh Singh. The bullet misfired, and Akhilesh raised an alarm, leading to his supporters chasing and assaulting the assailants.

The FIR, based on the statement of then Sitaramdera police station in-charge Sunil Kumar Chaudhary, named Akhilesh Singh, Kanhaiya Singh, Maninder Singh, and 11 others as accused. The case continues to unfold in court.
