Jamshedpur fruit seller dies after tree falls on him during storm

Jamshedpur, May 15: In a tragic incident that occurred in the Golmuri police station area of Jamshedpur on Monday evening, a fruit seller lost his life after a huge Peepal tree fell amidst storm and rain. The victim, identified as Rajendra Singh alias Raju, was a resident of Golmuri Hindu line and had been selling fruits in the area for many years to feed his family.

Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred when the storm hit and Raju sought shelter under the Peepal tree, which subsequently fell on him, burying him under the debris. Although a large number of people gathered and attempted to pull him out, Raju had already lost his breath.

According to local residents, the Peepal tree had broken five days ago, and they had demanded that the entire tree be cut and removed. However, this request was not acted upon and the tree remained in place ultimately leading to this tragic incident.
