Jamshedpur, Feb 2: Parsudih police have arrested four youths and detained over a dozen other in connection with the gangrape of a minor girl at government’s school toilet near Chandni Chowk area in Parsudih on Tuesday.
The youths are being identified by the victim minor girl.
According to police the minor victim girl is constantly changing her statement before the police while the relatives of the detained youths are camping outside the Parsudih thana premises. The minor girl who used to work as a domestic help was staying with her grandfather near Chandni Chowk while her parents used to stay in another basti.
According to the girl after returning from her work on Sunday evening, around six-seven youths took her to a government school toilet near Chandni Chowk where she was raped by all of them. The matter reached police on Monday morning and police detained all the 17 youths who were named by the girl. Majority of the youth are from Parsudih area while few are from Nildungri area under Sundernagar thana area.
DSP law and order, Alok Ranjan only informed the media that they have come to know about a gangrape incident and they are conducting investigation and interrogating the accused and declined to give any details stating that nothing is clear at this stage.
Meanwhile, relatives of those youth who are detained are trying to use their influence to release them from police.
