Jamshedpur: Four arrested in connection with series of thefts

Jamshedpur: City police claimed to have detected three thefts reported in Potka, Kowali and Jadugora by arresting four persons in this connection here on Saturday.

Those arrested were identified as Mohammad Afajuddin alias Chhote, Vikas Kumar, Mohammad Fahim and Mohammad Islam.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), East Singhbhum, Dr M Tamil Vanan, said the accused persons had stolen 40 boxes of liquor from a government liquor retail shop in Kalikapur, Potka, on the intervening night between February 15 and February 16. A complaint was lodged in this case by Naveen Kumar Das, proprietor of the liquor shop. A similar theft was reported in Kuldiha, Rakha Mines on 29th December last. Theft was also committed at an electronics shop in Hensabil, Potka, on 18th February last, said the SSP.
