Celebrations to focus on ‘Greennovation: Make Tomorrow Green’
Jamshedpur, Feb 23: With less than ten day left, preparations for Founder’s Day has picked up pace in the city.
The Steel City will pay tributes to its founder Jamsteji Nusserwanji Tata on his 184th birth anniversary on March 3.

The entire Jubilee Park, including the Jayanti Sarovar and Upvan, has been decked up for the festivity.

Jubilee Park along with roundabouts and heritage buildings are being lit up for the occasion. Tata Sons Executive Chairman N Chandrasekaran will be arriving here to attend Founder’s Day events. The theme of this year is ‘Greennovation: Make Tomorrow Green’.
Tata Steel along with Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited are working in tandem to ensure a bedecked Jamshedpur in Alice’s Wonderland ambience in countdown to the Big Day.

As per of the Founder’s Day celebration, several initiatives are being taken.
The entire city is transported to a magical world with light decors at every roundabout, streets and landmark buildings that stand out with tales of the city’s growth and changing geographical features scripted by TISCO Ltd and handed down through generations of Tata Steel times that has ensured a rich tradition of growing industry and happy citizens living under the sky of Jamshedpur.

Permanent steel structures are being erected for illumination at three prominent squares of the city. They are situated near Beldih Kalibari, Beldih Club roundabout and Marine Drive roundabout near XLRI. These roundabouts would remain illuminated the year long and add beauty to the city. They would be dedicated to the city on Founder’s Day.
A permanent tubular structure would be built in place of Rose Garden at Jubilee Park.

Besides, the triangular park near Bagmati Road close to Keenan Stadium along the Straight Mile Road is being converted into Corona Warrior Park which would be dedicated to Corona warriors. The park would be made with fibre-reinforced plastic.

Tata Steel subsidiary looking after civic needs of the city, is giving final touches to its beautification work on major roads which are being widened as part of its plan to ease traffic snarl. The road widening on dual-carriageway would see each of the carriageway have a width of 7.5 mtr while the central verge width would be between 1.5 mtr – 2 mtr.

It’s not Tata Steel alone but, Steel city at large is gearing up to celebrate the Founder’s Day, the birth anniversary of J N Tata on 3rd March, the founder of the Steel major and the one who laid the foundation of the semi cosmopolitan city of the erstwhile Bihar.
The celebrations commemorate the vision of the Founder after whom the steel city took its name over a century ago.
