Jamshedpur, September 12: Former Chief Minister and national vice president of BJP, Raghuvar Das has written a letter to Vishal Badshah, vice president (CVO) of Tata Motors, drawing attention to the reduction in the facilities provided to the workers of the company’s Jamshedpur plant.
The BJP leader has requested to resolve the issues.
The letter states that the employees of the company have not been informed about the recent salary revision, whereas earlier the employees used to be informed about it.
The letter complains that in the name of security information number of company employees in August 2023, Rs 1200 has been deducted from the salary of each employee. In the same month, a price cut of Rs 5,500 has been made in the major performance production segment. Not only this, the security index is missing in the salary payment slips given to the workers, which is against the wage revision agreement.
Das has also said in the letter that a number gate of the company, which was closed during the Covid-19 pandemic, has not been opened yet, due to which the employees are being inconvenienced.
Apart from this, the three days leave given to the company employees for essential works like completing banking processes, attending funerals and sending children to school has been stopped, due to which there is dissatisfaction among the employees.
It has been said in the letter that earlier ex-gratia was given on the sudden death of an employee, which has been stopped.
Tata Motors Jamshedpur Union refutes allegation
In this regard, RK Singh, general secretary of Tata Motors Workers Union, which represents the employees, said that Tata Motors is committed to the safety standards. The management has not deducted any employee’s money in the name of safety, but due to the death of an employee in an accident at the plant last month, the amount to be given to the employees for meeting the safety standards has not been given.
Its provision from the beginning is that if any employee dies within the company, then the amount received in the name of security will not be given to the employees in that month. This provision is to keep the employees safety conscious.
In terms of the major performance production segment, no cut has been made, rather an amount is given to each employee depending on the quality production done every month, which keeps increasing and decreasing. Last month, Rs 13,000 was given to each employee for better quality production.
