Jamshedpur, Dec 28: The construction of the much-awaited 2.8 km flyover in Mango is progressing rapidly. The project, which began on September 6, is on track for completion within 18 months. The flyover will feature a four-lane section on Dimna Road and a two-lane section on Purulia Road.
Executive Engineer Deepak Sahay shared that a major junction will be created at the Mango roundabout, facilitating smooth traffic flow from both Dimna Road and Purulia Road. The pillar piling work has already been completed on the Dimna Road side, and construction has now shifted to the Swarnarekha River and Sakchi ends.
“The flyover will offer significant relief to Mango residents, easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity between Sakchi, Mango, and Dimna Road,” said Sahay. He further mentioned that while the flyover from Dimna Road to Sakchi will be four lanes, the section from Mango to Purulia Road, near Payal Cinema, will have two lanes.
The estimated cost for the project is Rs 461 crore, with Rs 252 crore allocated for its first phase. The rapid pace of work has garnered widespread praise, with residents optimistic about the project’s completion, which promises to ease Mango’s traffic woes.
