Jamshedpur: The court of ADJ-5 Manju Kumari acquitted Anjan Kumar Shukla in connection with a 12-year-old firing incident that took place in the Telco area in December 2013. The verdict was delivered on Tuesday after the court found no substantial evidence against the accused.
Previously, on November 25, 2024, three other accused, Mangal Tiwari (Chhota Govindpur), Manish Kumar Pandey (Ara, Bihar) and Dilkhush Kumar alias Kanhaiya Jha (Kailash Nagar, Burma Mines) — were also acquitted in the same case for similar reasons.
According to the FIR lodged on the statement of Mukti Pado Kachhap, the incident occurred on December 20, 2013. Kachhap had taken his wife to Tata Motors Hospital for dialysis and was waiting in his car when two motorcycle-borne assailants approached, asked about a person named Sudarshan and then suddenly fired two shots at him, seriously injuring him. He was admitted to Tata Motors Hospital and later referred to TMH for advanced treatment.
The case remained pending for years, with several accused absconding. The court finally closed the matter due to lack of concrete evidence against the accused.
