Jamshedpur, April 12: A fire broke out at the Sahu Mobile Shop in Baridih Market on Monday at 11 pm. According to eyewitnesses, the shop was totally gutted. However, there was no report of damage in adjacent shops. District President of Akhil Bharatiya Tailik Sahu Mahasabha (ABTSM), Rakesh Sahu led office bearers of the organization on Tuesday morning and met the shop owner, Krishna Sahu and his son to take stock of the damage done by the fire. While inspecting the site of the burnt shop, the district ABTSM delegation was informed by the shop owner, Krishna Sahu that this was not the first time that only his shop was burnt. He demanded an enquiry into the incident. Krishna Sahu stated that that his shop was shut at the time of the incident because of the Ramnavami procession. He further informed that the main switch was switched off before closing the shop and that this was a regular practice.

Rakesh Sahu, District President of ABTSM alleged that the Sahu Mobile Shop was targeted and he argued, “If there was a fire in Baridih Market, ity would have affected other shops too. It is fortunate that other shops in the vicinity were not affected by the fire. The question is why one particular shop is being destroyed time and again. This factor calls for investigation.”
Rakesh Sahu said that he would apprise Jharkhand Health and Disaster Management Minister Banna Gupta of the incident and provide for adequate compensation to Krishna Sahu, the owner of the gutted Sahu Mobile Shop. The district ABTSM delegation headed by President Rakesh Sahu included office bearers of the organization Pintu Sahu,, Suresh Kumar, Ranjit Kumar Sao, Pappu Sahu,, Dipak Gupta, Manoj Sahu, Gautam Sahu and others
