Jamshedpur FC Reserves secure second straight win in RFDL

Shillong, December 7: Jamshedpur FC Reserves continued their impressive run in the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) Regional Zone matches with a clinical 2-0 victory over SAI RC at the MFA Ground in Shillong. The win marked their second successive triumph, solidifying their position as strong contenders in the competition.

Jamshedpur began on the front foot, creating a series of early chances. Zuala came close to scoring but was denied by a sharp save from the SAI goalkeeper, while Sital’s header narrowly missed the target from a corner in the following minute. Persistence paid off in the 10th minute when captain Puia latched onto a precise pass from Marjit on the right flank. Puia maintained his composure to slot the ball into the far post, giving Jamshedpur a deserved lead.

SAI RC pushed to level the scores but faced stiff resistance from Jamshedpur’s well-organised defense. Goalkeeper Adnan was pivotal, pulling off a remarkable double save in the 23rd minute, first with an acrobatic dive and then with a crucial punch to avert danger. Jamshedpur doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Amzad’s clever play found Rohan Singh unmarked. Rohan deftly broke through SAI’s defensive line and calmly slotted home to make it 2-0.

The second half saw a more intense battle as SAI RC tried to mount a comeback. Tempers flared, leading to a red card for a SAI player, further tilting the match in Jamshedpur’s favor. Despite SAI’s spirited attacks, Jamshedpur’s defense held firm, with Adnan and the backline ensuring their clean sheet remained intact.

With this victory, Jamshedpur FC Reserves maintained their winning streak in the RFDL and now look ahead to their next challenge. The team will play Classic Football Academy from Manipur in their next match on December 9th.
