Jamshedpur FC held to goalless draw in pre-season friendly

Jamshedpur, February 5: Jamshedpur FC played out a 0-0 draw against Sreenidhi Deccan FC in a friendly match at Flatelet on Thursday as part of their preparations for the upcoming Indian Super League season.

Although no goals were scored, the Men of Steel dominated much of the match and created several scoring chances. Rei came close to finding the net but narrowly missed the target. Jamshedpur FC controlled possession and pressed the opposition for most of the game, while Sreenidhi Deccan remained well-organised in defence.

Head coach Owen Coyle used the match to give game time to almost the entire squad, rotating around 25 to 26 players. He said the friendly was a valuable fitness exercise, especially as Sreenidhi Deccan had recently played another match and appeared slightly sharper.

Coyle explained that the main focus during pre-season is improving fitness levels and match sharpness rather than worrying about results. He said the team had some good opportunities to score and believed goals would come with more training and practice.
The coach also praised Sreenidhi Deccan FC for providing a tough and useful test, adding that such matches help the team prepare better for the challenges ahead.

Jamshedpur FC will next face Sporting Club Delhi in another friendly match at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on February 7. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 pm and is expected to attract local fans eager to see the team in action ahead of the new season.
