Jamshedpur, Sept 3: Jamshedpur FC Junior Champs kick started their two day showcase event today at the Tinplate Sports Complex in Golmuri. Amidst the sea of red (JFC jersey colour) the little stars fought each inch of their encounters with all seriousness befitting exciting matches with all the �Oohs� and Aahs� thrown in.

More than 500 grass root players from eight Jamshedpur FC Football Schools that include Mount Litera Zee School Mango, Kerala Samajam Model School Golmuri, RVS Academy Dimna Road, DBMS High School Kadma, Loyola School CH Area, Carmel Junior College Sonari, DAV Public School Bistupur and Hill Top School Telco were divided into 86 teams under three age groups.

The under 5 Little Champs played 3-a side matches of 15 minutes duration each. The under 8 and under 11 groups had five players in each side and each encounter was allotted 20 minutes time.

On day one 121 matches were played on a round robin points system. There were no losers in the matches played today but all were winners.

They won the hearts of spectators that included a huge chunk of proud parents most of whom learnt that sports too was a way of life in a city known internationally for making high quality steel.
